John Woon is a partner in the Toronto office practicing labour, employment, and education law. He advises employers in both private and public sectors with an emphasis on the education sector. John participates in the negotiation and drafting of collective agreements and appears frequently before mediators, arbitrators, labour relations boards, other administrative tribunals, and the Courts.

John is a Past Chair of the Ontario Bar Association Education Law Section and is currently a Programme Co-ordinator for that section. He also is a member of the Labour Law Section of the OBA. In addition, he is a member of the Labour Law Committee of the Toronto Board of Trade and a member of The Lawyers Club of Toronto.

John has regularly spoken and participated on panels at conferences, programmes, and seminars dealing with labour relations, employment, and education law matters. Recently, he spoke at the annual conference of The Education Safety Association of Ontario.

John graduated from the Faculty of Law at Queen's University in Kingston, Ontario in 1981 and was called to the Bar of Ontario in 1983. Before law school, he obtained a Bachelor of Commerce degree with Honours from Queen's in 1977 and a Master of Industrial Relations degree from the University of Toronto in 1978.
