Filion Wakely Thorup Angeletti LLP is one of the leading firms in the country practising exclusively in the areas of labour and employment law on behalf of management.

Our lawyers regularly litigate cases before numerous administrative tribunals and all levels of the courts. We also advise management in developing and maintaining sound labour relations policies. For employers involved in labour negotiations, we participate at the bargaining table or behind the scenes.
 

Our History

Our firm has developed its expertise in labour and employment law over several decades. It evolved from Ferguson, Montgomery, Cassels and Mitchell, which was founded in 1953. The founding partners of the original firm included Justices George S. P. Ferguson and Robert S. Montgomery. In 1982, Warren K. Winkler, Q.C., Roy C. Filion, Q.C., and David I. Wakely formed Winkler, Filion & Wakely. The partnership has grown substantially since that time and with the appointment of Warren Winkler to the Ontario Superior Court of Justice in September of 1993 our name changed to Filion, Wakely & Thorup. In 2001, the firm name became Filion Wakely Thorup Angeletti LLP.  In 2007, Warren Winkler was appointed Chief Justice of the Ontario Court of Appeal.
